Join us for the annual John Bennett Regatta hosted by the West Side Rowing Club. This event welcomes all youth athletes, coaches, parents and supporters to our rowing campus.

Event Details

The address for the West Side Rowing Club is 1 Rotary Row, Buffalo, NY 14201. Parents should park and drop their rower off in the Ralph Wilson Park across the street from the rowing club. It’s a bit of a walk to get to the spectating area from the park and parking lot, so pack light or bring a wagon. This site provides great spectating, so bring a chair to enjoy the races. 

The West Side Rowing Club parking lot will be CLOSED on race day to ALL CARS. Only boat trailers will be allowed in. 

Rower Drop Off: No later than 7:30 AM

Please leave enough time for travel as traffic can get a bit congested at the regatta site. Race times will likely be available using the link below later this week as times are finalized by the venue.  

8:00AM – 10:30AM Time Trials / 11:00AM – 3:15PM Finals

Heat Sheets

1st, 2nd, and 3rd place medals. Food and regatta merchandise are available. 

We will be making breakfast sandwiches with sausage in the morning and will have grilled cheese sandwiches and soup for lunch. Please use the sign up link below to volunteer to help with our hospitality tent this weekend.

Saratoga NYS Scholastic Championship

With over 80 New York teams and 550 boats competing, the NY State Championships is one of the largest state championships for rowing.

This regatta is a qualifier for both USRowing Youth Invitational Regatta and the Scholastic Rowing Association of America National Championships.

Parking:

Free parking on is available on the side of the roads prior to the hill leading down to the bridge.

Paid parking can be found at the bottom of the hill on the left; $20 per day or across the bridge on the right $40.

CHARGERS Junior Invitational

Join us for the CHARGERS Junior Invitational hosted by Syracuse Chargers Rowing Club. This USRowing sanctioned regatta is specifically for junior and high school rowers.

Pittsford Regatta Logo

Pittsford Regatta

Begun in 1997 as an exhibition row for the newly formed Pittsford Crew club, the Pittsford Regatta has grown into an exciting two-day event featuring both youth (high school club) and masters rowing events. The regatta is held on the historic Erie Canal in Pittsford, NY.

The canal is ideal for racing. The water is flat and sheltered with very little boat traffic. The course consists of two lanes running a total of 1200-meters.

Event Details

Most of the races on Saturday will be in the afternoon and all finals (for Saturday and Sunday time trials) will likely take place on Sunday afternoon. Since this is a local event, we will not be serving a hot breakfast on Saturday. *Please have all rowers eat before arriving on Saturday*. We will be serving a hot lunch on Saturday around noon. We will have a hot breakfast on Sunday morning and lunch is TBD based on how we do in the time trials. If our boats progress to finals, we will make grilled cheese for lunch on Sunday.

Rowers should be dropped off near Village Lane behind the DPW. Coaches will announce drop off times shortly. There are lots of great viewing spots. Many spectators choose to watch the races from Schoen Place.

Weather

The weekend is supposed to be cool and rainy with highs in the upper 50s to low 60s. As always, dress in layers, wear sunscreen, and come prepared for rain just in case.
