Fall / Spring Rowing Seasons

FCC offers club scholastic rowing on the novice and varsity level for girl and boys in the 9th through 12th grades. To participate, a rower must complete the Learn to Row course or participate in the winter conditioning program. The fall season usually begins at the end of August and the spring season typically starts at the beginning of April.

Winter Conditioning

A winter conditioning program is offered in February to our rowers. It's purpose is to help our rowers and coxswains build strength and endurance for the approaching spring season. Winter conditioning involves strength / weight training in an indoor location and tank training at the Pittsford Tanks.

FCC Summer Rowing Camp

Fairport Crew Club will hold a Summer Rowing Camp for any youth rower who has completed at least one rowing season. This camp is open to boys and girls in the Greater Rochester area, in addition to Fairport Crew members. If you want to be a better rower, tune-up for fall racing, or just need so more time on the water, this is the camp for you.

Rochester Navy Program

The purpose of the youth Rochester Navy program is to provide athletes with an opportunity to improve technique, gain racing experience through intense competition, foster friendship with rowers from other clubs, and have fun. Rowers must be between 15 to 18 years of age, with one year rowing or coxing experience in eights or fours will be eligible for the program. Rowers must try out and be selected to participate in this program. . The 2008 Rochester Navy competed in the West Side Rowing Club Invitational, the St. Catherine’s Invitational (in Canada) and the Henley Royal Regatta in St Catherines, Canada.

FCC Summer Adult Learn to Row Program

Fairport Crew Club is offering Adult Learn to Row and Adult Recreational Rowing programs in the summer. Program descriptions, dates, registration information, forms, coach bios and contact information for these two programs are available at the FCC Adult Rowing Programs website. The adult rowing programs is held at the FCC Boathouse on Fairport Road.

Pittsford Summer Programs

Pittsford Crew Club traditionally scheduleds three types of summer programs for youth: beginner Learn to Row, Advanced Learn to Row and Intramurals. For information and to register, visit their camps page at http://pittsfordcrew.cmiregistration.com/ProgramHome.aspx .

Genesee Water Center - Rowing and Sculling Programs

Genesee Waterways Center hosts a variety of youth and adult Learn to Row and sculling programs.
