The following route applied to the 2005, 2006 and 2007 Fairport Homecoming parades. While this has been a traditional schedule and route, be aware that it may change in future years.
Note that the FCC boathouse is located toward the left (west) edge of the map
below.
Each year has a theme. The guidance office at
Fairport High School selects the theme and keeps a list
of each group's decorations so that no two floats
are decorated the same.
The staging area for the parade is usually East Avenue - Point A
on the map. Watch the FCC listserv for information on
line-up time and location. Drop off rowers at either end of East
Avenue.
It is recommended that you do not drive down East Avenue, no matter how tempting it looks or how late you are; your car will likely get
stuck in traffic.
The parade usually starts at 9:00 a.m. and goes south on Main St/Rte 250 to the intersection of Church Street/Rte 31F - along the yellow
dashed line. The parade turns west on Church
Street/Rte 31F and then south on Potter Place.
The parade usually lasts about 45 minutes to an hour. It ends in the Minerva Deland School parking lot on Hulburt Rd - Point B on the map.
It is recommended that you use the west (nearest the athletic fields) parking lot entrance/exit at Minerva Deland School, as it will be
less congested. Or park in the back lot of Johanna Perrin School across the street from Minerva Deland, or anywhere away from
the Potter Place - Hulburt Rd intersection.
